Settings - Some Important Reminders

Details found on this page are used in many other site features, so making sure you have things configured correctly HERE will mean efficient and error free functionality elsewhere.

Site Title – this will also correspond to the email subject (if installed) – so pick something meaningful!

Admin Username & Admin Password - The default to the system is admin/admin. You should change it to something more meaningful upon your first login attempt to improve the security to the system.

The Admin Email - This performs two critical functions: If you lose or forget your login or password details, the system will use the email designated here to send you your username and password. If you configure this incorrectly, then the only way to retrieve your login credentials would be to go through the MySQL database on the server, which may require an administrator’s help. The SECOND feature that is enabled is visitor alerts! So, when a campaign is run, and someone goes to their personalized landing page, the system sends an email to the address designated here. This will help you target your follow up calls more efficiently; rather than calling hundreds or even thousands of people for their feedback, you can call just the first fifty or hundred visitors to your site. Why? Because you KNOW they were interested enough to visit! It’s a qualified lead!

Root Directory – You can’t change this. It is only supplied in the event of wanting to integrate this software with another script.

Root Url – You can’t change this. It is only supplied in the event of wanting to integrate this software with another script.

Invalid Page/URL: What if someone tries to visit your website, but they don’t actually have a personalized URL? This is the page that you should send them to. It can be your default homepage, or it can be a generic landing page without a lot of personalized elements. The point is, no one gets missed or accidentally left out.

DYNAMIC URL Format: The DEFAULT for the system is /Firstname_Lastname/ (i.e.: with the underscore between the two name elements). *** We recommend you leave it this way ALWAYS, unless you REALLY know what you are doing. Why? Because the system constructs all the personal URLS this way, saves it to the database, and it is the way all the data is exported to a CSV file (if the feature is available). Switching up the format could mess up your mail-merges when conducting a direct mail campaign. However, there is some practical reason for the other formats, if you are not intending to integrate the personal URL addresses into a direct mail campaign.
